Research showed that most adults viewed underage drinking as something that teenage boys did, and as a result, few parents or teachers were making an effort to prevent teen girls from drinking. The data also showed that the risk of accidental pregnancy was the strongest motivator for parents to set rules against underage drinking for their daughters.
Oh, and to everyone who posted photos of this bulletin on social media with a comment like, “What are the odds that an old billboard about underage drinking would be underneath this one!”—the odds were actually quite good.
