Ryan Reaves trade

Southern nevada water authority

With Lake Mead at historic lows and years of flat water conservation despite record droughts, the Southern Nevada Water Authority gave homeowners a reality check.

The agency would begin aggressively enforcing water waste fines, and to promote that message, we got Nevada’s most popular enforcer, Ryan Reaves of the Vegas Golden Knights.

Aimed at the homeowners most likely not to conserve, young men, this hard-hitting campaign reduced water use 22% during its first month and 27% year-over-year. The campaign was so popular (millions of unpaid online views and social posts) that fans began bringing signs to games tattling on the opposing team’s watering habits, and when Ryan Reaves was traded, Southern Nevada social media exploded with feigned relief.
