The early days of e-cigarettes were the Wild West of vaping. Smoke shops were making e-juice in backroom sinks. Nicotine levels rarely matched what was labeled, and nobody was quite sure what health effects vaping might pose. Nevertheless, consumers overwhelming viewed e-cigs as completely safe.
So, we tried to sell another product the same way that e-cigarettes were sold—setting up a food cart among other food trucks in downtown Salt Lake City. The resulting video was sent to news stations and posted on social media, sparking a week-long series of reporting about vaping in Utah.
