Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS)

Facing massive cost overruns building light rail, taxpayers in Charlotte, NC, put a measure on the ballot to repeal transit funding. With a limited budget to advertise against the repeal, I suggested buying a single billboardlocated at the city’s worst freeway bottleneckand adding to it weekly.

The billboard generated more than $250,000 worth of news coverage and was a key part of the measure’s defeat.
